Wrappin' It Up
Another week gone, another argument done. I don't get it, what is it with me. Or my tutor shall I say.
So yeah, just another week or so left till I get away from college, officially. Handed in my FMP today, and had to present it to a board of teachers in like a little conference room too. Now not that I sweat presentations or times where it comes to stand up and talk about my work, but I was a bit nervy on the idea that I hadn't done well. But frankly that didn't matter too much to me either, all I wanted and had hoped for has already been secured and God willing nothing will stop it from happening. An attitude I hear you say, so what.
About the argument, see whenever I get into discussions about my work/work in general with my tutor, we always seem to have a little kick-off. Honestly, I don't recall a time where we've had a conversation about my work and us not having a little argument over it. Sometimes it'll get heated and I'll back down. On the one hand I think she enjoys these little arguments, but then I also think she finds that I'm a cocky arrogant little bastard which clearly if you knew me I'm not.
Anyway, I'd just finished presenting my work, got some feedback, and then we (all 3 tutors and I) had a little chinwag about what pieces of work I should put up for the show next week. That's when it happened. We had yet another argument. It ended quickly though since someone else was due for their presentation next. Oh well, I'm sure she appreciates these little debates of ours we have, and that I know as she's mentioned to other tutors the passion I have for my work.
About the show, we'll be preparing for it next week. Painting boards, mounting and cropping work for display etc. Should be a chill week, a nice way to wind down an interesting two years I have to say. As I've said before, if you're in near Dewsbury or surrounding areas and would like to attend, drop me an email.
All that lies in between now is a period of sunny weather and sweaty nights. Hopefully the course next year will be far more challenging and really opens up the doors of recognition for me. I dream about that day.
